Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am using TMS570LS0432 in my application for adc sensing of multiple channels in continuous conversion mode . I want to use software trigger for adc triggering . I want to access directly the results stored of each channels . The example code given in halcogen is also not much helpful as per my requirement also the example code has some ambiguities regarding the trigger of ADC.

Kindly send some example code for directly accesing the adc results independent of FIFO method .

Hello,

1. If any conversion group is configured to be in a continuous conversion mode, then it needs to only be triggered once. All the channels selected for conversion in that group will be converted repeatedly. Be aware of that all three conversion groups (Event, Group1 and Group2) cannot be configured to be in a continuous conversion mode.

2. Group1 and Group2 are software-triggered by default. For groups configured to be in continuous conversion mode, the Group Memory Threshold Interrupt is more practical as the application can allow a programmable number of conversion results to accumulate before interrupting the CPU.

3. The CPU can read the conversion results in one of two ways:

1. By using the conversion results memory as a FIFO queue
2. By accessing the conversion results memory directly

To read the results from the memory directly, please refer to the example in TRM 16.3.9.3.

Dear QJ Wang,

1. I want to use continuous conversion mode for Group1 for multiple channels with software triggered . I want to access directly the results of ADC .I am unable to find example code for TMS570LS0432 for the same .

Kindly attach some link for example code or procedure for the same.

Continuous conversion mode on the ADC is useful mainly for channels that are monitored using the "Magnitude threshold compare interrupt" feature of the ADC. For conversion results actually being read by the CPU or DMA this mode has issues as stated in the post you referenced.

It is recommended to set up single conversion sequences that are periodically triggered using one of the several trigger options supported.
