EK-TM4C1294XL: Example usb_dev_cserial not working on windows 10

Hello,

i´m trying to get the example usb_dev_cserial on a windows 10 machine working. After I debugged and started the example, the virtual com-ports are recognised as a usb-device with a warning flag and not as com-ports. I tried to update the driver with the "usb_dev_cserial.inf" file but I keep getting errors like "the best driver for this device has already been chosen" and "not a compatible driver for this device". On a windows 7 machine the installation of the driver works without any difficulty.

Does anybody have the same problem and solved it? Thanks in advance.

Hello Constantin,

This is a known issue that we have solved for the upcoming release. Are you looking to implement a single port CDC device or do you need the composite functionality? I can provide a solution for either depending on which you need.

Hello Ralph,

I just need something so that the USB device appears as a virtual COM Port. It´s probably the composite functionality, but I´m not sure.

Hello Constantin,

A composite device will populate multiple Virtual COM Ports. A single port CDC device would just make one instance of that.

I will attach the CDC example for you here, this is what you would find in the TivaWare release we are in the process of getting on the web: 6266.usb_dev_cdcserial.zip

If you need the Composite setup with multiple COM ports, I can help with that too, but there are added steps because we fixed USB library bugs which require updating files in usblib and then recompiling the library. So not worth it for you time wise if you don't need it.
