ISO-11898 includes more levels than the CAN controller. The CAN controller on the TM4C123 is compatible with ISO-11898, but the lower levels are the driver chip and physical connectors and the higher level protocols must be done in software. CAN on the TM4C123 is compatible with ISO11898-2 Compliant Systems.
