Two Microcntrollers on board: one or two crystals for good EMI test?

Good morning,

i'm developing a design with two uCs that run at 8or 16 MHz, and I must choice if use a single crystal with OSC_OUT_1 to OSC_IN_2 or two separate crystals and no connection between uCs: what is the best solution for EMI tests, also keeping in mind that componenst vould be at 3 or 4 centimeters in distance?

If my small group may ... your dual MCU design is likely to be (somewhat) beyond the experience level of (even) this esteemed vendor. As you surely know - much depends upon board layout, routing, (any) other "radiating offenders" & (potential use) of EMI shielding.

My group has found that "optimal EMI suppression" (best able to receive Regulatory Agency Approvals) most always demands "several board iterations" - each one (vey) carefully measured & contrasted/compared. Assistance from "EMI Specialist firms" (not ours - btw) often "Speeds, Eases & Enhances" your attainment of Regulatory Agency Approval...
