Unable to connect to the micro controller

Hello,

After downloading my flash build into the micro controller(TMS570) ,I tried to connect my micro controller to the ccs studio 3.3 through spectrum digtial emulator(XDS510usb) then i am getting the following error. Later I am unable to connect to the Micro through JTAG

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000240/-2062
Fatal Error during: Initialization, OCS,
Cannot halt the processor

I/O Port = 510

Board Name: SD XDS510USB Emulator - TMS570PSF762
Cpu Name: CortexR4

Abort:        Close Code Composer Studio.
Retry:        Try to connect to the target again.
Cancel:        Remain disconnected from the target
Diagnostic:    Run diagnostic utility.

Later I am unable to connect to the Micro through JTAG

Varun,

Try this sequence: disconnect JTAG from target and assert power-on reset. Now try connecting again.

Let me know if this works.

Varun,

Since you were able to download code to the flash, I can assume that the chip is supplied properly, the power-on reset (nPORRST) is released (high), and the input clock is at the correct frequency and amplitude.

Can you check the nRST signal to see if it is getting driven low by the microcontroller? If so, this means that execution of the code that you downloaded into the flash is causing a system reset. The CPU cannot be halted by the debugger if it is in a reset state. This results in the error that you are seeing.

Can you please detail what board configuration you have applied for CCS? My experience is that an error of this type is typical of a bad configuration file. If you programmed via stand alone SW, it may be that you are using two different configuration files for the flashing SW vs. CCS.
