TM4C129ENCPDT: Uniflash serial interface

Dear TI-team,

i am using a custom bord with a TM4C129ENCPDT. I was used to flash my µC with the Segger Jlink. After that a bootloader was added to be able to flash over a serial(UART) interfave using the LM Flash Programmer. Since there is no Linux build i want to use Uniflash desktop but there is no option to select a serial port. So i wanted to ask, if there is a way to use the Uniflash CLI to flash a TM4C129ENCPDT over a serial port?

Hello Lukas,

CCS Uniflash would not support the UART boot loader for CLI as it is a custom protocol and thus not supported.

Instead the path forward on Linux is to use the sflash tool we provide with TivaWare.

The executable is located at [Install Path]\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\tools\bin

And the source code files are located at [Install Path]\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\tools\sflash

Thank you for your fast answer, that helped a lot. Just two further questions: Is there a doc of this protocol? Is this protocol bidirectional?

Yes, it is documented in our Boot Loader User's Guide, see Section 5.3 Serial Commands. https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spmu301

Also you can see the source code in bl_main.c under the Updater API. The source is in the boot_loader folder for TivaWare.
