I'm trying to understand the UART receive timeout period. On page 1148 of the TM4C1290NCPDT UART receive timeout period is 32 or 64 bit period, depending on the HSE bit setting in the UARTCTL register. I'm not sure what a bit period is. Is it the period of the BAUD rate or the period of the system clock? Please explain. Thank you.
