May I use the JTAG I/O (Data/Clock) for software I2C I/O in CC2530?

Dear sir:

We have the pin limitation for new project. So that we consider to assign the Jtag clock and data for software i2C function.

My question is :

1) Is the software I2C function workable or not? Would we care more application notes?

2) May I use the I2C function and full trace at the same time under the IAR & CCS debugger tools?

Hello Henry,

JTAG is not supported on CC2530.

The CC2530 is only supported by IAR + CC Debugger:

May I assign the P21 and P22 ( data &clock) pin for software I2C I/O?

If I try to debug the function and full trace in IAR debug?

Because I think that it will be conflict during full run & trace.

Hello Henry,

The debug interface uses I/O pins P2.1 and P2.2 as debug data and debug clock, respectively, during
debug mode. These I/O pins can be used as general-purpose I/O only while the device is not in debug
mode. Thus, the debug interface does not interfere with any peripheral I/O pins.

Hi! Eirik:

Thanks for your answer. I got it.

Maybe it should be put on debug information to UART port.

Instead of the full trace is used in IAR debugger.

The software I2C function will be used for the battery gas gauge.
