RM57L843: Quadrants in Peripheral Central Resource and PCR's corresponding Frames

Part Number: RM57L843

Hi!

I have been going through the Technical Reference Manual of RM57L843 (SPNU562a) and I have few questions from the 2nd Chapter (Architecture). Before putting my questions, I want to give my brief understanding of PCRx modules.

In RM57Lx, there exists three PCRx modules, each one of them having some set of peripherals to control under them. As far as I understand, these PCRx modules help in arbitration while various BUS Masters access the peripherals under them. Apart from that, these control the registers of individual peripheral modules (for instance, PCR1 controlling the read and write access to RTI/SCM/SYS etc., module registers under it). Adding to that, PCRx modules also control the memory (say each SRAM access' associated with each peripheral under them. For instance PCR3 accessing SRAM modules of DCAN peripheral etc.). So far, I expect that the brief explanation provided above about PCRx from functional point is correct. If not, please clarify.

Now, coming to some questions that I have:

1. In Section 2.5.3 (Peripheral Central Resource Control Registers), what is meant by the statement, "Protection control to the peripherals in PCS (Peripheral Memory) and PS (Peripheral) regions"? My understanding is that, PCR registers protect the SRAM memories of the peripherals under them (Peripheral Memory) but then, what are PS regions in the above statement?

2. The bullet points following in the above section, all seem ambiguous to me because they have not been explained before. So, I request someone to explain me the terms, "Core Sight debug peripherals and its associated memory protection".

3. Similarly, in the statement, "Master-ID Filtering control to the peripherals in PS (Peripheral), PPS (Privileged Peripheral), PPSE (Privileged Peripheral Extended) regions", what is PPS and PPSE mode and what do they refer to (memory or the peripheral under PCRx in general) ?

4. What is "Peripheral Memory Frame" as I see registers used to protect it? (Section 2.5.3.1)

Lastly, in Section 2.5.3.5, please explain what are Quadrants and how are they related to PCRx modules? What is meant by "quadrant in a PS Frame" and what exactly is a "PS Frame"? How are all these related to PCRx module? Their significance etc.?

In general, I need some explanation on PCRx related Frames, Quadrants and its related Jargon.

Thank you so much in advance for the help!

Regards,

Chetan.
