TMS570LS1224: Configuration of GIO terminals

Hi Team,

A customer has 20 digital signal lines that he wants to connect to TMS570LS1224. Section 25.1 of the Technical Reference Manual states that there are 64 GIO which can be independently configured as input or output. How can he configure the GIO terminals to have at least 20 inputs?

    Hi Danilo,

    TMS570LS1224 has 16 dedicated GPIO pin with external interrupt capability. 40 N2HET pins can be used as GPIO as well. The GIO pis can be used as either input or output which is configured by Direction register:
