Dear TI engineering support. I would like to get an answer for one issue I encounter recently. In one of my product, this micro controller get broken. I'm wondering if I simply replacing this microcntroller with a blank one, if this can be reflashed with SW/firmware via USB memory stick? I would like to mention that formerly, I was able to update the SW/firmware via the same USB port, just appling POR after the memory stick was connected.
It is working as well for blank controller? What si the procedure to start reflashing via USB?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards
Cristian
Hello Cristian,
On a Blank IC, the ROM Boot Loader would be invoked. The ROM boot loader does not work with a USB memory stick as it does not have a means to look for a specific file to flash on. If you have a USB memory stick updating process, you would have a flash boot loader running that handles that.
To reflash with USB, you have to use a standard USB DFU protocol as described in our boot loader user's guide: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spmu301
