Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012, TMDS570LS31HDK, , CC1310
Hi,
I have a TMDS570LS31HDK and a LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012. May I use them as an emulator for my board with TMS570LS3137?
Best regards

Hi QJ,
Thank you very much. With your help, I've found a website of 20-pin JTAG header to J1 footprint. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/samtec-inc/FTR-110-51-S-D-06-TR/SAM13889CT-ND/9594183. Is this correct ?
May I ask for your suggestion about how turning off the power to TMS570LS12x MCU on launchpad ? I'm a newbie for this.
Warm regards
Datïan
Hi Datian,
For HDK,
1. Don't provide power supply (12V) to board. Use USB power only. The FT chip and CPLD are powered with USB 5V.
2. Bend pin 8 of 20-pin ARM JTAG header, since this pin is shorted to GND when external emulator is plugged to disable the xds100v2. Bending pin 8 will keep the xds100v2 enabled.
BTW, I did not try before, but you can try it.
Hello Datian,
Please read our datasheet. The JTAG on TMS570 requires the following signals:
1. nTRST. --- MUST. This signal has to be pulled down.
2. TMS, --- MUST
3. TCK --- MUST
4. TDI --- MUST
5. TDO --- MUST
6. RTCK is optional. This is used for adaptive feature. It is not a MUST.
