TMS570LS3137: Application Softwares on 2002 Hardware Voting

Hello,

I have a question about providing SIL4 by establising a 2002 voting mechanism with 2 hercules TMS570LS3137 MCU's. But the main point and considiration software on the both CPU must be the same. One of the Hercules MCU document there are two MCU one for control and one for safety.

So for SIL4 level, is it possible to run different application software which presents same safety functionality on the 2002 MCU's

Hello,

It is certainly possible to use two separate Hercules MCUs in a redundant configuration to address requirements of a system targeting SIL4 for a particular safety function.

You are correct. I am clarifiying it a little bit more. There are 2oo2 CPU. Each one of them runs different software. With that respect this Two hercules MCU provides SIL4 level still.

Yes, this is possible. You do need to follow the safety manual and the FMEDA to implement all the required safety mechanisms and diagnostics in order to make the case to your assessors.
