TMS570LC4357: DMA channels parallelization

Hi,

In the DMA documentation for TMS570LC4357 there is a information that there are two master ports for DMA - A and B. Is it then possible to execute two configured DMA channels in parallel? The question is especially about a transfer from memory to peripheral - if I'd want to read memory and send it over UART with DMA, and in the same time read memory and send it over SPI with DMA, is this possible?

Tom,

The DMA module in TMS570LC4357 has two separate ports (portA and portB). Therefore, it can perform transfers on two channels at the same time. For example, it is possible to use port A to do flash->RAM transfer while using portA/B to do SRAM->SPI RAM.

Thanks for the reply. But is it possible to use these two ports to do both RAM->SPI and RAM->UART at the same time?

I think it is possible if they don't access the same address in RAM at the same time.
