TMS570LS0714: Debuggin custom board using LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 as an emulator?

Part Number: TMS570LS0714
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012, TM4C129ENCPDT

Hi,

I have a board with a TMS570LS0714PGE MCU and I would like to ask you if it is possible to use the TM4C129ENCPDT MCU that the LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 has to program and debug the TMS570 MCU of my board. I have tried some things but all failed.

First, I switched off the LAUNCHXL2 main MCU (TMS570LS12) by removing the R9 (see image below) resistor to pull-down the nPORRST. Then, I connected the JTAG pins of the TMS570LS0714PGE with the corresponding pins of the J1 connector.

As this failed, I tried disconnecting the TMS570LS12 power by removing the R29 resistor (image below). I thought that doing that the 1.2V voltage supply of the TMS570LS12 would be disconnected.

However, I'm still not able to debug my board's MCU. In CCS, it appears the error "The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken. An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed. The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault".

Thanks for your time,

Regards
