TM4C1294NCPDT: TM4CXXXX MCU's Current/Future Product Road Map and TI support (Official Company Response Requested)

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT

To Company Representative,

I am trying to contact TI company sales department to obtain Ti's roadmap and current and future support for their Tiva C series MCUs. I was told to post my question here by Ti, so it appears the sales department is still on furlough.

I am interested in using the TM4CXXXX MCUs in my prototypes and future products because it meets my requirements. However, I don't see the MCU actively listed on their main company MCU product webpage, but after considerable searches, I was able to find the MCU still active. This revelation leads me to believe that Ti is no longer actively promoting the MCU going forward, and when demand drops from their current customers base etc., it will be discontinued. Is this a correct assumption? Is the TM4CXXXC MCU NRND, and when does Ti plan on discontinuing the MCU and development boards etc., or does the MCU have an official support end date?

Furthermore, I am aware of the SimpleLink MCU, but it really doesn't meet all my requirements.

Please advise?

Luis

  • Hello Luis,

TM4C is not NRND and it is an active product on TI.com. The devices are active and will remain active for the foreseeable future. There is no end of support date. We want customers to continue to use TM4C in new designs and plan to support these products for years to come.

In fact due to feedback from customers like yourself, we are in the works to highlight TM4C alongside other TI MCU families to reflect it's status as a product that is meant to be used for new designs. And there are going to be more promotions for TM4C moving forward. We just updated TivaWare in April 2020, and have other collateral planned for release throughout this year.

Please let me know if you have further concerns regarding this that I can comment on.
