TMS570LC4357-EP: Pin name discrepancy

Part Number: TMS570LC4357-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDX570LC43HDK

Hi,

We have selected TMS570LC4357-EP part for our design.

I was looking into the reference schematic given in Hercules TMS570LC43x Development Kit (TMDX570LC43HDK Schematic Design File) and found some discrepancy in pin naming of TMS570LC4357-EP part as shown below:

I have listed out few discrepancy below:(There might be more like this)

SL no. Pin Number Pin name in Schematic
Pin name in Datasheet
1 W13 RESERVED_AD2EVT AD2IN[16]
2 K18 NHET1[00]/SPI2CLK N2HET1[0]/MIBSPI4CLK/ePWM2B
3 V2 NHET1[01] / SPI4ENA / OHCI_RCFG_txEnL[1] / W2FC_PUENO / NHET2[8] N2HET1[1] / MIBSPI4NENA / N2HET2[8] / eQEP2A
4 W3 NHET1[06]/SCIRX N2HET1[6]/SCI3RX/ePWM5A

Kindly let me know whether this is intentional?

Regards,

Suhas

  • Please use the name in the datasheet to identify the correct terminal assigned to the ball number. The eval boards are designed to support multiple parts as they are ball-map compatible. The actual function multiplexing may be different from part to part though.

  • Thanks for the response,

The part number in EVK schematics clearly suggests it is TMS570LC43x. Hence I was expecting the pins to be matching with the datasheet.

  • The HDK uses a common design shared between multiple parts. The schematic was updated to show applicability to TMS570LC43x. Please use the ball numbers and refer the datasheet for the actual functions multiplexed on each terminal.
