TMS570LS3137: How do I disable the Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM)?

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

I have a requirement to disable the Embedded Trace Macrocell in order to avoid any possible issues with errata ETM_R4#16 - ETM-R4 fails to trace VNT packet for the second half of SWP instruction.

Can it be explicitly disabled and if so, how do I do this?

Thanks,

Gareth

  • Hello,

The ETM clock source can be selected as either VCLK or the external ETMTRACECLKIN pin. The selection is done by the EXTCTLOUT[1:0] control bits of the TPIU; the default is '00', which means that ETM clock is tied-zero.
