TMS570LS3137: Error connecting to the target: (Error -151 @ 0x0)

Hi ,

I am trying to flash the software in TMS570LS3137 HDK board,while doing so am getting the following error message.

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -151 @ 0x0)
One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect
returned bad status or an error. The cause may be one or
more of: no XDS100 is plugged in, invalid XDS100 serial number,
blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable.
Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif'
folder to verify the XDS100 can be located.
(Emulation package 8.3.0.00003)

I ensured that the 12v power supply is given and usb cable is connected and in working condition.

With the same power supply and usb cable am able to flash the software in different HDK board

What could the reason for this error and can this be fixed ?

Hello Mahendran,

When the USB cable is plugged in, is the LED D12 turned on? D12 is next to U27 (FTDI chip). If the LED is not turned on, the 5V-3.3V LDO regulator (U25) might be damaged.

Thanks for your valuable information.

Yes D12 led is not turned ON.

It looks like there was some problem with the usb port in the HDK , after some rework on the board by H/W team we were able to flash the software.
