Code / Evaluation time limitations on TMS570 Microcontroller Development Kit?

Hi,

I'd like to use the TMS570 in a safety critical application. Therefore, I plan to buy the TMS570 Microcontroller Development Kit (TMDX570LS20SMDK).

My Question is: Are there any limitations regarding maximum code size or evaluation time when using the Code Composer Studio which is shipped with the MDK?

    Based on what I know, there is no maxium code size and evaluation time limitation. However, the limitation is " you can only use xds100v2 emulator". This emulator built in with the MDK. If you want to use other fast emulation tools, e.g xds510USB, you need to buy. or you can use the ccs3.3 with patch  if you already have CCS3.3.

    Okay. That's fine.

    We already have CCS3.3.

    Do you mean Service Release 7 or greater for CCS3.3 which introduces Cortex M3/R4 Support?

    If not, where can I obtain the patch?

    If your CCS3.3 is bought sometime after 2007, it should support TMS570 devices. Otherwise,  Please contact whoever sold CCS3.3 to get the patch. The objective of this patch is to "support Cortex R4 devices in CCS3.3". Please see the following picture for CCS setup.
