Hai,

I am newbee to rtos, Currently i am trying to shift bare metal code to freertos

while shifting the code to freertos, currently iam facing two issues

Issue 1. Unable to execute interrupt handler functions(when trying to excute getting in to exception handler function)

Issue 2. Unable to use malloc and calloc functions (when trying to excute getting in to exception handler function)

Please help me to solve those issues or if there is any example for interrupt please provide link or Please provide the API's that i can check

NOTE: I have done Rtos Configuration using TI provided DOC (Link: www.ti.com/.../spna237.pdf, If any changes needed in Configurations please let me know

Hi,

To use the interrupt, the IRQ or FIQ has to be enabled. This enable function is defined in syst_core.asm. The interrupt channel for the specific peripheral should be enabled in VIM too.

I am sorry I don't have an example.

Hai Wang,

With the help of "_enable_IRQ()" interrupts has been enabled and Interrupt channel for specific peripherial has been also enabled, but that's working fine with bare metal code, but in freertos it's not working.

Please help me to know, how to use Interrupts and dynamic memory allocation functions like malloc, calloc etc in FreeRtos

I did a test. There is no problem to generate a GIO interrupt when running task1:

I don't see the reason that freeRTOS protects you from using malloc() if the necessary C libraries is included and C heap is defined. But It is better to use pvPortMalloc() instead.

Hai Qj,

I have Created Delay using Real time interrupt (RTI 1) but delay is working fine before creating the task in Freertos , but after creating task delay is not working (i think due to use of interrupt in free rtos)

Please use the HALCoGen to generate project for freeRTOS.

I checked your HAL confguration *.hcg and *.dil. The configuration is not for freeRTOS.

In Halcogen for freertos first i have configured the TMS570ls0714PGE_FREERTOS and Copied RTOS files to my Device(TMS570ls0714PGE).

Document Link I have used for porting: FreeRTOS on Hercules Devices_new (ti.com)

Down I am attaching the .hcg file which i used to generate RTOS files and my Current code(Where i copied the Generated Files).

Note: I have even Tried With Can Rx Interrupt its also not working, please provide if ant Rtos frame is avalible

Please help me to solve the issue

Hello Chandu,

You can use TMS570ls0714PGE_FREERTOS for you interrupt test. Copying OS files to non-OS HalCoGen project may mess up the settings used by OS.

In freeRTOS HALCoGen config file, the RTI is not configurable, it is used by OS. To use other RTI compare units, you have to add the code manually. The RTI configuration is in the function of prvSetupTimerInterrupt(void) in os_port.c.
