Hi Team,

I am using a DSP (SMOMAPL138B) and uController (TMS570LS3137) from TI. I want to interface both of them. Can you help me know which interfaces can be interfaced with each other?
There are 2 EMIF interfaces on each of the DSP and uController. Can I interface them?

Is there any other interfaces through which we can interface these two Processors? Do you have any application note or any documentation wherein you have gone ahead with the interfacing of any other Processors in TI?

Further I wanted to confirm if I can interface HPI interface of DSP with the EMIF of uController. Are there any application note for interfacing these two interfaces?

Kindly let me know at the earliest.

Yes, you can use LS31x EMIF to interface with Omap HPI

Hi Wang,

I have referred the document as shared from your end. Following signals I am able to interface but some of the signals from EMIF are not able to get interfaced with the HPI interface.

Below is the snapshot of the page from the application note. The signals which are not able to connect are highlighted. I am finding some signal mismatch between the TMS320 DSP and the SMOMAPL138B-HiRel DSP for the HPI interface.

BE0 and BE1 are byte enable signals which should be compatible with nDQM[1:0] signals of TMS570 EMIG.

CE1 is chipselect as CSx used on TMS570 EMIF

TMS570 EMIF doesn't have ARDY signal and nARE read ready signal. I don't know how those signals used in their example code.

You can use GIO pins HRDY and HDS2.

Hi Wang,

It seems the signal pinout of TMS570LS3137 EMIF interface is not having the signal R/W# whereas the TMS570LC4357 Processor has the signal R/W#.

Not quite sure.

You are right.

If the memory device has RD/WR signals, then you need to use OE and WE signals from EMIF. RNW is not needed in this case. RNW is for device which does not have separate RD and WR signal.
