RM48L952: Compliance tests (CSP)

Part Number: RM48L952

I have a question about SPI loopback tests, defined in the compliance (CSP) test suite for RM48.

Is it necessary for the compliance purposes to be able to loopback 16 bit words? Or is the test rather about making sure that the data is being transmit, i.e. would it be ok for me to change txdata from 0xAAAAu to 0xAAu in sl_selftest.c? Or, should I instead reconfigure our SPI to have 16 bit as Charlen?

  • Hello,

If the charlen is 16-bit, SPI will transfer 16 bit of data. If you write 0xAA to DAT1 register, SPI will transfer 0xAA, then 0x00. The charlen (data word length) must be programmed be the same length for both master and the slave.
