MSP432E401Y: Remote FirmWare Updates on Custom Board LWIP, USB, Serial UART

If you require remote firmware updates (rather than local/physical), then doing it over Ethernet is probably the best (if not only) option.

The USB and serial port bootloaders require local access which may not be feasible for your design and/or customers. If the MSP432E401Y was a secondary MCU that was connected via USB or serial interfaces to a main MCU or processor that could receive the firmware update over Ethernet or wireless (e.g. Wi-Fi), then those interfaces could be used to remotely update the MSP432E401Y's firmware. However, your MSP432E401Y is connected over Ethernet, so using that interface for the bootloader makes the most sense to me.

Thanks for the help. I already use the TCP using lwip so can I just follow the example in dev.ti for bootloader using lwip. Also, do you by any chance know how I can change the static IP Address I set function after its running lwip_init?

Unfortunately, I don't. You could try searching the forum for similar threads. I found a few linked below. You could also try searching for TM4C threads since they are very similar to the MSP432E401Y devices.
