TM4C1294NCPDT: Cannot ping TM4C1294NCPDT by using iOS, MacOSX devices

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGIA

Hello everyone,

We are developing an app what communicate by TM4C1294NCPDT with iOS devices,

however, it returns 'Host is down' or 'Timeout' while PING TM4C1294NCPDT on iOS devices expect Windows and Android phone,

we tested on iOS 12, 13, even 14 and this test confirmed under same network.

Besides, we developed on TM4C1294 LaunchPad Evaluation Board perviously and iOS devices can PING it without any issues.

We have no idea that why iOS devices cannot PING the designed board (TM4C1294NCPDT) and this board is based on Evaluation Board's design.

Attached is the circuit diagram what we design.

Please kindly advise us. Thank you!

  • Hello Kim,

There is not a lot of information here to work with. I understand your general problem statement, but I do not understand how you are using the TM4C. By the schematic and terminology of Ping / Timeout, I can guess Ethernet but that isn't much...

What example code are you working from?

    Are you using TI-RTOS?

Have you made modifications to a TivaWare or TI-RTOS example project and if so, what are they?

  • Hello Ralph,

    Thank you for your reply!

We use a sample code which is Ethernet Sample [Chat Server] on Energia, the path is libraries\Ethernet\examples\ChatServer.

All Devices (iOS/Android/Windows) can Ping successfully on TM4C1294 LaunchPad Evaluation Board with this sample code instead of TM4C1294NCPDT(customized board).

    Here is the scenarios.

TM4C1294 LaunchPad Evaluation Board -> use Example Code (Chat Server) -> Ping from iOS/Android/Windows -> Success (All devices can PING)

TM4C1294NCPDT(Customized Board) -> use Example Code (Chat Server) -> Ping from iOS/Android/Windows -> Partial ( Failed on iOS Devices, Ping returns Timeout or Host is down but fine on Android, Windows)

A prompt reply would help us greatly.

    Many Thanks,

    Kim

  • Hello Kim,
