Chris Sterzik mentioned : "The key difference between class 0/1 and class 2/3 is the boot code and the associated boot-override mailbox. With class 0/1 the boot code is executed, where class ‘1’ is a ‘controlled’ re-execution of the boot code. In this sense, with a hard reset the 'device' is not rebooted."

What does that boot code do? Is it in boot.asm file?

You can find the boot.c in the kernel code C:\ti\simplelink_msp432p4_sdk_3_40_01_02\kernel\tirtos\packages\ti\sysbios\family\arm\msp432\init

I checked boot.c, thank you for the reference. So, is this boot.c code executed in Reboot, but not executed in Hard Reset? Is that the difference between these two types of reset?

And where is the code that calls this boot.c functions?

That is correct.

This is generated as part of the SysConfig depending on the board specific configuration. You can find more information in the SDK user's guide at https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AAUqzB01wxAVRsvB.bphoA__z-lQYNj__LATEST. Please see the section named "portable.syscfg".
