Hi,

I got a question from my customer about MCAL configurator EB Tresos.
Is it ok to use EB Tresos with free of charge?

I found below post related to this subject.

It seems TI provides MCAL and technical support, but it is not clear how to get AUTOSAR MCAL license agreement.
- Is this a license signed between TI and customer?
- Is this free of charge?
- What is difference in the license between a development and a production?

Please clarify.

Tashiro-san,

There is a click-wrap license that you need to "Agree" before you are able to install the TMS570 MCAL. This license includes all the applicable terms and restrictions. We do provide TMS570 MCAL for free. TI licenses and distributes the EB Tresos MCAL configuration tool for customers for use with TI MCAL on TI devices only.

I am Naoya, Koichiro’s customer.
I have a additional question about MCAL configurator.

I am using TMDX654IDKEVM.

As above, can MCAL for AM6548 be used under the same conditions?

Hi Sunita,

I am using PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM65X: 07_00_00_05.

I plan to use it for in-vehicle controller communication.

I would like to test the performance of AM6548 to investigate whether it will be used in the next product.

I have already read the terms of use for MCAL.

But I don't know if MCAL configurator(EB Tresos) can be used for free and for product development.

Hi Naoya,

Please note that MCAL support has been descoped/removed from AM65x Processor SDK7.1 onwards.

If you are looking for just study purpose as preparation towards next generation devices, then you can use SDK7.0 (which you are already looking at).

And EB tresos license for evaluation can be provided along with SDK.
