TIDM-BLPFC: IMPORTING BLPFC BUILD PROJECTS INTO CCS.

Part Number: TIDM-BLPFC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, TIDM-1007, C2000WARE

Hello,

I am Khalid Javed, a PhD Researcher from GHENT UNIVERSITY BELGIUM.

I have a TI Made Device i.e. TIDM BLPFC which is having a C2000 MCU. I already setup a connection between my laptop and the C2000 MCU with the help of the CCS and I did flashed the memory of the MCU. Now as TIDM- BLPFC is provided with a guide to understand the programing for the whole device under the link which is given below. So to understanding the process and to start with the BUILD 1, I have to import CCS Project into the CCS. So for that I am following the route i,e, when starting the CCS for the first timing and specifying the workspace I use the same directory i.e. C>ti>controlSUITE>development_kits>BLPFC_v1.0>BLPFC.
Then I go to the projects>import CCS project and then again from option of select search directory I use the same root directory i.e.
C>ti>controlSUITE>development_kits>BLPFC_v1.0>BLPFC.

It do loads the BridgelessPFC in discovered projects and I do select it,

But when I select finish then they appears the following error message.

Can you please guide me that where I am making mistakes?

Best Regards

  • You don't need to load or program anything into flash. It should be all pre-flashed for you. So you use the quick start guide (QSG) to power up.

Now to explore and review the software you will use the User Guide (UG) and go step by step as described in the UG.

You also need to have ControlSuite in your PC to be able to run the code for the BL PFC design you mentioned.

Lastly, I would recommend that you use our latest C2000Ware software and Digital Power SDK (DP SDK). Check out the latest BL PFC design. This is TIDM-1007 SDK in C2000Ware. This has a Totem Pole BL PFC topology.

  • Thanks Shamim for your response.

I think I didn't explained my question fully.

The problem is that I have to flash memory of C2000 as to make it programmed according to my control loops. So thats why I flashed it.

My question is about following the steps which are mentioned in the TIDM BLPFC device documentation and that is only for the purpose of understanding its previous control method, To just understand how they did performed it step by step.

  • We are looking into this. We will get back to you soon.

  • Javed,

I would start by creating a new workspace. When specifying the location of workspace, make sure to pick a directory that does not contain the project. This would cause CCS to think the project is already imported within CCS, thus the error you are observing when trying to import.

Once you create your workspace, when following the steps to import the project, make sure to check the box at the bottom that states "Copy projects into workspace". What this will do is create a copy of the project that will reside in the location of the workspace. This step is necessary to ensure that the golden or original copy provided in controlSUITE is not modified by any modifications you perform. Any changes made will be contained to the project located in the workspace. Hope this helps.

    Regards,
