LAUNCHXL2-RM57L: Not able to read the TX/RX Header Descriptor pointer registers

Part Number: LAUNCHXL2-RM57L

Hi All,

Currently, we are trying the Ethernet Loopback example program. We are able to establish the physical & Link Layer.    ACT & LINK LEDS are blinking.

As per the attached screenshot, we are getting the following error "Error: Unable to read".

              MACADDRLO

              MACADDRHI

                       MAC INDEX

                       TX0HDP to TX7HDP

                       RX0HDP to RX7HDP

                       TX0CP to TX7CP

                       RX0CP to RX7CP

Could you please give your valuable feedback for the same ?

Thank you.

Regards,

S.Saravanakumar

  • Hello,

Please make sure that there is no problem with the JTAG connection. I just run the loopback code on LC4357 HDK, and works well.

When the target board is connected, is the REVID register readable? The REVID value is 0x4EC80100.

  • Hi QJ Wang,

When the target board is connected, is the REVID register readable? The REVID value is 0x4EC80100.

S.Saravanakumar:  As per the attached screenshot, we are able to see the value in REVID regiser in debug mode.

We have purchased 2 no of LaunchXL2-RM57 boards. From the day 1, we have purchased the board, we are not able to read MACINDEX, TX0HDP-TX7HDP, RX0HDP-RX7HDP,TX0CP-

TX7CP,RX0-RX7CP in both of the LaunchXL2-RM57 boards.. But, we are able to read the other registers. If there is problem with USB Debug mode connection, we should not able to read any of

the registers. But, we are able to read other registers except MACINDEX, TX0HDP-TX7HDP, RX0HDP-RX7HDP,TX0CP-TX7CP,RX0-RX7CP.

                                   Kindly give your valuable feedback.

    Thank you.

  • Hi All,

    https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/hercules/f/312/t/709196?RM57L843-Can-t-read-EMAC-address-at-0xFCF78500-register-in-the-memory-browser

As mentioned in the above link, we should update the installed Microcontroller GEL file, in order to resolve the reported problem.
    Thank you.
