MSP432E401Y: passive interfacing to Ethernet 100baseT (product selection query)

Part Number: MSP432E401Y

Hi,

I've got a current design using a Sitara processor which we're looking to redevelop using an MSP432.

A fundamental part of the design is to be able to 'tap' into an Ethernet link. I achieve this on the Sitara by connecting the MII interface to a Microchip LAN9303 switch. This switch has 2 full PHY ports + MII interface. Hence, the Ethernet 'just passes through' the board, whilst being tapped by the processor. It works well.

However, moving to the MSP432, I've stumbled here. Because the MSP432 has an integrated PHY, I can't use the LAN9303 MII port, but I'm struggling to find something similar (which has 3x PHYs).

Can anyone offer any suggestions: either

- Eth Switch IC's I've not spotted,

- nefarious means of passively 'tapping' a 100baseT link (using the MSP432 PHY).

- bypassing the MSP432 PHY?

Thoughts/Suggestions?
