Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM, TMS320F28027
Hello,
My XDS200 debugger stopped working completely (not identifying in computer management, no LED lit) after power supply cycle from on-off-on. I have custom motor controller board, but basically the same schematic as with boostxl-drv8305evm + launchpad xl tms320f28027. Major differences being the debugger and form factor. I have worked with this setup for months and have not had to make any changes electrically for long time. The custom board still boots, runs code and motor rotates as intended when turning potentiometer. 100W nema23 motor to give idea on scale of the system.
The board was sitting on a non-conductive surface and there were no open wires nearby, so something else than accidental short must be going on. The board was powered from +24V lab supply and had scope probes attached to onboard header. Third device connected was the debugger through a laptop. All three external devices connected to board are connected to same AC extension cord (3-lead).
I am electronics engineer by profession and would first suspect voltage surge, but all the other systems seem to be working. Debugger does not identify in another computer either. I opened the plastic enclosure of XDS200 and probed some of the larger ceramic capacitors and found they had sensible voltages in them, so the chips must be receiving power correctly from USB.
Any ideas how to revive this debugger or what might have gone wrong?
