Hi Experts,

The Safety Manual Appendix A lists the Diagnostic DMA9A and DMA9B which are linked to section 7.132.

Which is the same as the Test for Diagnostic DMA18.

(Q1) What is the difference between DMA9A/B and DMA18?

You are correct - the functionality to be tested is identical for DMA9A/B and DMA18.

Hi Sunil,

After searching in the Safety Manual I noticed that there is a chapter "7.125 Software Test of Function Including Error Tests".

(Q1) Could it be that the link from DMA9A/B is wrong?

(Q2) If this is intentional, why is the Safety Measure mentioned twice?

Hi Max,

A software test of the MPU would essentially also mean the same check as that required at start-up or periodically. I will check internally about why this safety measure is mentioned twice.

Hi Max,

There is nothing different the application software can do to test and verify this safety mechanism. I will file a change request to remove DMA18 in a future update to the safety manual.
