The Resource Explorer comes with a tcpecho example for communicating with TCP/IP sockets.
This works very well for me. However, I wonder if there is a "best practise" solution for closing a TCP/IP socket?
Any ideas are welcome.

Hello,
I couldn't find any formal guides about this. However, the tcpecho example description in TI Resource Explorer mentions that tcpWorker() handles closing the server socket, freeing TCP buffer memory and exiting the task. There may be more generic documentation about this process online.
