TM4C129ENCPDT: Assigning MAC address

Part Number: TM4C129ENCPDT

Hello,

This is the first time I'll be releasing a product with ethernet on the market. I'm trying to understand assigning the MAC address and registering it. A colleague of mine brought up that my company is registered a series of MAC address in IEEE. I'm not sure exactly what he meant.

First question is, does each TM4C129E chip already has a unique MAC address? Is it already registered or do I have to register it? Or can I just use that MAC address?

Second, can I assign a different MAC address for each chip? If so, how do I do that? My colleague mentioned that we have a series of MAC address that my company registered  and I should follow that. To be honest, I am a bit confused. I am under the impression that the TM4C129E chips each already has a unique MAC address that could be used in the end product and there's nothing else I need to do.

Please clarify.

Thanks.

AJ
