LAUNCHXL-F28379D: LAUNCHPADXL TM320F28379D some boards Loading program wrong

In case it helps. Among the 6 evaluation boards I have, I have found another one working properly. The QR codes in the back side for the working ones are:

-4100794+1301+002285+1948

-4100794+1301+001445+2030

The QR codes for one not working:

-400794+1301+000770+2030

Hi Rafael,

What CCS version are you using?

Can you verify that you are able to connect to the problematic board using the target config file and erase the flash using the 'On-chip Flash' plugi-in within CCS?

Updating to a newer CCS version may fix the issue.

Hi, 

Thanks for your help. I have updated to CCS 10.4.0.00006. There are still problems with some of the boards (there are others were the program is loaded and executed perfectly), although I think I found the solution of the problem.

Some of my observations: 

1. The program I am trying is loaded into the RAM, not in FLASH (just in case it could be related to this).

2. During the debugging session I can see the Loading of the program (.out), but not the erasing of FLash (i guess is normal because the program is loaded in RAM). Although I tried to Erase the Flash with On Chip Flash, but it not solved the problem. 

3. After loading the program the debugger shows the CPU1 suspended in a SW breakpoint (I have not added any). when I click on "Resume", CPU1 is suspended again in a SW breakpoint and gives the next message: _system_post_cinit() 0x3FE493(an error ocurred:failed to parse the previous frame FP).  If I try to resume the CPU1 keeps suspended in this message. 

I realised that If I reset the board before Loading the program there is no error, so I went to the Debugg configuration in Target I changed to "Reset the target on a connect" instead of "Halt the target on a connect". 

This seems to solve the problem and now any debug session Load the program correctly in all the boards. 

Could it be that a program runinng in RAM cannot be halted for reprogramming and it need to be reset at all?

I believe the device needs to be reset before being re-programmed in CCS, I tink related to the BOOT-ROM needing to be run, but would need to confirm.

You can reset the target within CCS without power cycling your board for this.
