TMS320F280025C: Ram content behavior in CCS/ CRC calculation/ Flashing a device ID using Uniflash

Part Number: TMS320F280025C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi,

my customer has the following questions while developing on the F280025C:

1. CCS IDE (Code Composer Studio Integrate development environment) shows a wrong value  of variable in “Memory Browser” but program flow is correct as during debugging: any idea why?

2. Flash CRC32 calculation mechanism. Cannot find any method to calculate it using n CCS (CCS using CRC16) or convert .out file using hex2000.exe to convert .out file to Intel Hex format.

3.How to write data which is different from every device production line e.g. serial number by using Uniflash programming tool

thanks

Olivier

  • Hi Olivier,

For item #1, is it possible to get a code snippet and a snapshot of the memory browser from customer to see what the mismatch is?  For item #2 and #3, I'll get inputs from uniflash expert for answers.

    Regards,

    Joseph

  • Hi Olivier,

#1. It can happen for couple of reasons.

         A. Flash wait-states are not configured properly.

         B. Memory window auto-refresh may have a bug. Which CCS version are you using? Did you try refreshing the memory window? Try the laest CCS and also check for updates.

        C. Also, check for any updates in the emulator that you are using.

#2. I believe I recently answered on this on E2E and assigned to Matt Pate as I am out of office now.

  • Hi Olivier,

Also, I think the customer is mixing up the RAM and flash context here.

Regarding #1 above:  He might be referring to RAM content and not flash.  If so, then my reply on the other forum post (referenced above) will help clarify this.

    Thanks and regards,
