Hi all,
We are developing a functional safety certified product and are planning to use the RAM testing technique March13N.
In the The C2000 SafeTI Diagnostic Library Software Safety Manual (SPRUIH0A) indicates that the technique March13N is better than Abraham or Galpat techniques. However, we need some evidence to demonstrate it to our certificator. Is there any evidence or bibliography that the March13N provides an equivalent diagnostic coverage to the mentioned techniques?
Thank you!
Ricard Picas
Ricard,
I believe this IEEE published paper is the basis of the above assertion https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/199799
A.J. van de Goor(principle author) https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/author/37273366000 is considered an expert in memory testing methods, and you can see there are additional papers here on the topic as well.
March13n is a good test for functional faults, and in terms of execution time is a good tradeoff for other higher order/n tests for the coverage it provides.
Best,
Matthew
Thank you very much for your answer. It has been most useful!
