Hello All,
I have a question regarding the compatibility of FTDI chips with the F28335 MCU.
We are design a control board with the F28355 on it and we are selecting the FTDI chip for the connection of the F28335 to the USB port of the control board.
I know that the TI USB docking station features a FT2232D chip and its EEPROM can be programmed with the F28335_CC_XDS100wUART.ept file, and I was wondering if a FT2232H is also compatible with the F28335?
In general, is there a list of FTDI chips compatible with the F28335 whose EEPROM can be programmed with the F28335_CC_XDS100wUART.ept file?
thanks

Hi Francesco,
I will forward your post to appropriate expert. Somebody will get back in soon.

Francesco,
Just giving more information on the forum on this topic. The FT2232D is what we used to emulate the XDS100V1 class of debug probe. The FT2232H, we have also used, but to emulate the XDS100V2 class of debug probe. As such these have different programation files, but either emulator will work with the F2833x device.
The only physical issue is that the FT2232H does not come in the same package/footprint as the FT2232D so if we are talking replacing on a existing PCB, there would need to be re-work to accommodate the difference.
Finally, the programmation file/method is different between the 2 devices, this E2E post has the details for programming the XDS100V2/FT2232H https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000-microcontrollers-group/c2000/f/c2000-microcontrollers-forum/252873/unable-to-program-f28m35h52c1-with-blinky/889381#889381
