TMS320F28388D: Noise disturbance in ADC signals

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Hi All,

We are using TMS320F28388D micro controller for our project. In that when we use ADC to read some signals we have lots of noise disturbance. As we need accurate voltage changes this disturbance causing the issue.

Is there any way to suppress this noise issue using software/ ADC configurations.

I have heard about digital filters for ADC. Is that possible to use that in this case. If we use, how that will effect the performance?

Please help me with example of ADC with digital filters if available.

Regards

Dipin

  • Hi Dipin,

What noise disturbance are you seeing and which mode is the ADC in i.e 12-bit, 16-bit, single-ended, differential?

  • Hi Frank,

    ADC mode is 16-bit differential.

    Triggering the ADC using PWM

When we try to read ADC channel without giving any input its showing approximately 50mv. This is the noise for me. The noise may be coming from any part of our system but is there any way to suppress that using firmware?.

Can you clarify what you mean by "without giving any input"? Are the inputs floating? A few other questions below:

    1. What is the reference voltage?

    2. How are the differential inputs being driven?
