TMS320F280049C: How to input a pulse to the EQEP module in hardware

Guru 10680 points

Hi,

I want to input a pulse to the EQEP module when turning the stepping motor and measure the frequency of the pulse.

In the sample code of eqep_ex5, the speed and frequency are calculated from the number of pal counts. Please tell me if there is a way to directly calculate the speed and the number of pulses with EQEP.

Thanks,

Astro

  • Hi Astro,

What kind of pulse do you want to input to eQEP? Is it a PWM pulse that turns the stepping motor that you want to measure? Or is there an encoder which is generating pulses?

Have you consider using eCAP module to measure the pulse width/frequency?

    Best Regards,
