Hi,
I am using TMS320F2812 DSP in my design. I am not able to communicate with my target via code composer(V3.3). I am working with XDS510LC USB
I chcecked Jtag connection and the target power supply, it seems all right.
The image below shows the jtag signals on my board :
The second image is the pin header signals of the emulator cable:
Note that the connector of the emulator cable is not plugged directly on the JTAG connector on my board. The connection is ensured through a tool board with a corresponding connector compatible with the one in the second image (emulator side) :
and an other connector compatible with the one in the first image (Board side):
The signals go from a connector to an other through a buffer 74LVT244APW:
Yet I didn't connect on my board the TCK-RET signal, i don't know if it could be a problem.
I verified with scope while trying to connect the target via code composer, all i can see is TCK signal variation, and nothing else on the other signals (TMS, TDI, TDO, TRST).
Note 1 :
- This is the first connection to my target.
-There is no software code on the flash memory.
-While trying to connect to an other TMS320F2812 with some code in its memory , it worked!!
How can i get this problem solved please, any ideas ?
Hello,

You shouldn't need the TCK-RET signal, so this is not the issue. When you were able to connect to a programmed TMS320F2812, were you seeing something on the TMS, TDI, TDO, TRST pins? Are were you using the same board/JTAG connections?
Best Regards,
