Vince,

In regards to my previous post (link above), I did some more checking around and it seems that VCLK is a term that comes from the automotive CAN\LIN terminology.

Could you forward a request to the Technical Publications department to clarify this VCLK nomenclature is a LIN term. And, that in the TI world it is actually 'the SYSCLK (or more precisely, "PERx.SYSCLK")', quoted per your prior response. Thanks.

  • HI MonkeyBusiness,

Thanks for your request! We actually have addressed this for all devices because of that original post. There will now be a bullet in the baud rate area where VCLK is mentioned, describing the VCLK source for these devices (and that frequency is == SYSCLK). Because PERx.SYSCLK for LIN == SYSCLK in all recent devices, this has been clarified accordingly.

    Thanks for your recommendation!

    Regards,

    Vince

  • HI MonkeyBusiness,

NOTE: release schedule for device TRMs varies per device. Next available release for all devices should have this update.

    Regards,

    Vince
