TMS320F28027: Lab session from Motorware not working on LaunchPad XL F2802x

Part Number: TMS320F28027
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8301, MOTORWARE, LAUNCHXL-F28027, LAUNCHXL-F28027F

I wanted to try the lab sessions for the combo BOOSTXL-DRV8301 REVB and C2000 LaunchPad XL TMS320F2802x with an F28027PTT on it.

According to the instructions in the guide of BOOSTXL-DRV8301 I installed Motorware. With CCS I'm using Version 9.3.0.00012 and I followed the Motorware/lab instructions to the letter: importing proj_lab for the combination above without copying and referencing into workspace as it is recommended in the lab guide. Already the first session (blinking an LED) didn't work and I got an error: C28xx: Trouble Reading Register PC: (Error -1142 @ 0x0) Device blocked debug access because it is currently executing non-debuggable code. Choose 'Rude Retry' to disable polite mode and force the operation. (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006). The source debug window shows: Break at address "0x3ff5f5" with no debug information available, or outside of program code. A single stepping from the start shows a jump to outside the memory map during init of HAL and from there it goes to the Break.

I did "rude retry" to no avail. I found a corresponding E2E thread with suggestions but the referred online repository (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/C2000_Archived_Workshops#C2000_Piccolo_One_Day_Workshop_-_Revision_2.1_December_2010_.28controlSTICK_F28027.3B_CCSv4.2.29) is no longer there.

Anything else I could try?

Thanks, Ingolf
