TMS320F28069F: Rotor position calibration during PMSM startup

Part Number: TMS320F28069F

Dear Yanming Luo:Thank you very much for your help on Sensors FOC for ACIM! I am preparing to conduct sensor and sensorless FOC experiments for PMSM. I saw many discussions on the calibration of the initial position of the motor rotor in the forum, because my control will be used on mining locomotives, and I often encounter heavy loads going uphill. No matter what control mode(sensor or sensorless), if the controller is powered off and restarted at this time, the rotor may not be able to rotate to zero electrical angle when starting the motor (during the recalculation of Rs), This will cause the motor to fail to start. My question is: must my scheme be adjusted to use absolute value encoder or encoder with UVW signal to reduce rotor position error and increase starting torque?

thanks!

Regards!
