i am working on generating ethercat slave information(ESI) on CM core. i am following the EtherCat Slave Design Quick Guide ,using SSC tool V5.12,but the generated ESI(XML format)file did not contain any PDO information, why? using samples are in C2000Ware_MotorControl_SDK_4_00_00_00.
Hi Jinfu,
Are you following the "EtherCAT_Slave_Controller_User_Guide.pdf" guide in C2000WARE directory below? Or some other document? You mention the MotorControl_SDK.
C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_02_00_00\libraries\communications\Ethercat\f2838x\docs
Assuming you're following along with the guide above, are you trying to run the CM Echoback Solution Example discussed in section 3.8? Following these steps exactly should generate an ESI (.xml file) with PDOs defined.
Best,
Kevin
thanks for your reply. as you say, i can get an ESI with PDOs. But when I use the examples in C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_02_00_00 \solution\tidm_02006_multi_axis_drive\f2838x\ssc_configuration to generate the ESI, there is'nt any PDO in the generated XML file.
my selected sample as following
Hi Jinfu,
Ok, I see you're looking at the multi-axis servo drive solution. You should be able to use the generated 'F2838x_CM_ECAT_multi_axis_drive.xml' ESI file directly for programming the EEPROM. You shouldn't have to use the SSC tool unless you wanted to modify some of the input / output data.

Kevin
