TMS320F2800137: Configuration of C2000 and reset IC

Guru 10680 points

Hi,

Q1. Is it possible to use the internal oscillator? And is it OK to leave X1 and X2 unconnected at that time?

Q2. We are considering the TLV840CADL29DBVR as the reset IC for the C2000. The configuration is as follows.

Is this configuration OK?

Q3. Biss-C reference design is configured for F2837x. Are you planning to release a library that supports Biss-C other than F2837x?

  • Hi,

Please allow me another day to answer these questions. I will need to reach out to another expert.

  • Hi Eevee,

Q1. Is it possible to use the internal oscillator? And is it OK to leave X1 and X2 unconnected at that time?

JC: Yes, you can use the internal oscillator to clock the system and in doing so, you can leave X1/X2 unconnected or repurpose these for GPIO functions.  Take note though that if you are planning to use CAN, the accuracy of the internal oscillator cannot support the tight bit timing requirement of CAN.  If CAN will be used in the application, it is strongly recommended to use more accurate external crystal/oscillator.

Q2. We are considering the TLV840CADL29DBVR as the reset IC for the C2000. The configuration is as follows

JC: Please see the PMM section of the datasheet under I/O BOR monitor/VDDIO monitoring section.  You may not need to add the extra VDDIO (3.3v) supervisor if your application meets the I/O BOR specs of F2800137.

Q3. Biss-C reference design is configured for F2837x. Are you planning to release a library that supports Biss-C other than F2837x?

JC: Adding Lori to the thread.  She will help address the BISS query.

    Best regards,
