TMS320F28379D: XDS200 SCI interface connections possible?

Hello Experts,

Is it possible to interface an SCI port using the XDS200 debugger, Similar to how a serial interface in implemented on the LAUNCHXL-F28379D?

We are planning to purchase the USB200 (https://www.blackhawk-dsp.com/products/jtag-emulators/usb200) along with the 20 pin isolation adaptor ( https://www.blackhawk-dsp.com/products/jtag-isolation/iso20-pin ).

Would be nice if we could have the serial port as well.

The XDS200 debugger does not support serial COM port. You could consider an XDS110 debug probe since it has a separate connector which does bring out UART pins for connection to the target. Note that in this case, you would need a separate isolation solution.

Thanks Gus, so if XDS110 is used, is there an off the shelf solution to isolate the JTAG signals and the serial signals in one pcb?

You can use the same isolation adaptor from Blackhawk. This is from their website:

"These adapters can be used with most JTAG emulators, including XDS100, XDS110, XDS200, XDS510, XDS560 and XDS560v2 models."
