TMDSDOCK28379D: working on TIDA-010054 with C2000 TMDSDOCK28379D

Hello Vincent,

Is this an error thrown by CCS, SysConfig, or some other software tool provided by TI? I don't recognize the UI offhand.

Where did you get this version of CCS Theia? Note that the version on the public version only support MSPM0. We have special builds that have support for other devices like C2000 but it is only available via request.

Looks like you have stopped using CCS Theia and now moved to CCS 12 (which does support C2000).

You are getting a build errors with what appears to be an example project from C2000Ware. I believe the warning regarding 'Build variable C2000WARE_ROOT' cannot be resolved' is the root issue.

I will bring this thread to the attention of the C2000 experts for further assistance.

Building a project does not require having a device connected (this is only when programming the device or debugging it). It looks like your C2000WARE_ROOT path is not defined properly, please check your Project Properties > Resources > Linked Resources to make sure the paths are correct for your C2000Ware installation.

Can you send me the console output from CCS? Was this example copied into the workspace or is it just referenced when you imported the example?

Hi Vincent,

Please remove the project and import it, verifying that it's actually copied into the workspace. Next, when you build the project make sure to use "Rebuild" if you didn't do it before, I'm not sure why it seems to be abbreviating all the other steps that are normally taken unless you only did "Build".

I cleared the workspace from 0. I imported the project and did the  C2000WARE_ROOT path, how you show me.

Still no change on the error, i send screenshot to show what i did.

I also use "rebuild".

I tried the same project on my side (I have CCSv12.4 but this shouldn't be a big difference) and I managed to build without errors, even without adding C2000WARE_ROOT. I'm not entirely sure what's wrong, but it seems to be compiler-focused because I can't recreate it with the same settings. I'll try to get someone on the compiler team to help solve this.

That would be a good thing to try; do this for both CCS and C2000Ware, just in case.

Hello Vincent,

How are you importing this project? Are you importing using Resource Explorer or manually via 'Project -> Import CCS project' menu?

Can you zip the project folder and attach it to this thread?

I import CCS project. Its in ''C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_DigitalPower_SDK_4_04_00_00\solutions\tida_010054\f28004x\ccs''.

I did only few change (like the carde for the one i use this controller (TMDSDOCK28379D) instead of the original one (TMS320F280049).)

I cant attach it to this thread.

If you don't change the device in the project properties but instead import and build "as-is", do you get the same error?

Yes i just tried. But it look like the element or not in the project. Maybe i need to add them first?

I imported this project and built it. It built just fine. It must be some odd issue with your environment.

Can you build any project? Can you create a new dummy project and see if that will build? Something like?

If that dummy project failed to build then there is something odd that is specific to your system.

Please post the "makefile" in the target configuration subfolder ("Debug")

Your makefile is identical to mine. 

Open a DOS command window and browse to the location of the makefile.

Then run the following command:

c:\ti\ccs1240\ccs\utils\bin\gmake.exe -d -k all -O > log.txt

For example, my project folder is located in: C:\Users\<user>\workspace_v1240\test. Hence I browsed to the "Debug" subfolder and ran the command from there:

That is ok. But I think you have your workspace set as "C:\ti"? If that is the case can you change your workspace location to someplace different. Maybe "C:\ti\workspace" or somewhere else, a new directory that is empty.

After you do this, try creating a new test project to this new workspace location and try building again.

I think i found out what was the problem. My firewall was blocking some stuff. I will continue the testing.

I feel like creating a new project would be easier. However I would recommend consulting with a C2000 expert. Please create a new thread for the C2000 experts.

hi,

There is few things that don't make sense to me.

The exemple i loaded, is supposed to have the pin already assigned (normaly).

But i don't see any in the syscfg. Is it possible those pin are program in a file .h or .c (like: dab_user_settings.h)?

Also, i am not sur to have the right board selected for my card.
