Thank you, Joseph. The post is related but the answer to the question is irrelevant. This device requires a second BSDL model (such as CortexM3 from ST, https://bsdl.info/view.htm?sid=ba319a8fe2ac23c488ca59b002289d77), with just one dummy BScan cell and all the required registers.

As the post that you shared indicates, we are also trying to develop a BScan test to test shorts and opens on the part/board.

Hi Vaheh,

Are you using a particular JTAG emulator for your opens/shorts test?  Usually, the emulator vendors have their SW take in the BSDL files which is provided for our products and will work with any 3rd party vendors for the opens/shorts testing of the ports.  The TAP for F2808 BSDL are the JTAG pins (TDI, TMS, TDO, TCK and TRSTn).

Yes, I am using Acculogic's tool. The BSDL model is for the CPU part of the device. The BSDL model says:

-- F280x Devices have two taps - one for the CPU and one for boundary scan.
-- The boundary scan IR size is 3 bits.

Each TAP requires a BSDL model for the JTAG tool , so the JTAG tool identifies the IR register, instructions, ...
