Hi.
In the TMS320F2803x Technical Reference Manual there is a "12.12 SCI Baud Rate Calculations" section which describes Asynchronous Baud Register Values for Common SCI Bit Rates. But there is only few Ideal Baud rates described in the table. My question is about % of error. I want to have a 115200 baud rate but what will be the % of errors in this situation?
Hi WW,
Thanks for your question. Actual % error can vary drastically depending on the system, which is why we don't specify this. See this email thread:
If you're just wanting to see what the actual baud rate would be written into the register, you can use the formulas in the BAUDH/L registers to get your baud rate to BAUDH/L values. Then convert these values from BAUDH/L to baud rate to get the ACTUAL baud rate that you set.
Note in these formulas it depends on your LSPCLK value, so please keep that in mind.
Regards,
Vince
